Ragnar Cape Cod 2014
Yep, that’s right! Ragnar Cape Cod will hopefully be my first race back this coming May! Will you be there too?
I’m so honored and excited to join a team full of Oiselle women for this, my fourth Cape Cod relay! You’ll find us at #flockyoulikeahurricane on Twitter and Instagram. Check out our awesome hats! (Oiselle is named after the word for “bird” in French)
It’s not going to be easy, since I may only start running on pavement a few weeks before, but I’m trying to keep positive as I incorporate a ton of pool running in March and April. I may also seek alternate help for my overnight run in the relay, due to the unsteadiness of running in the dark. My team has been gracious in letting me choose the absolute shortest legs (4.5 miles, 2.4 miles, 4.5 miles).
AND we’re seeking local volunteers! Our team needs to provide three helpers to Ragnar for the weekend of May 9/10th. While you may not be hangin’ with us the entire time, you’re guaranteed a hat and a beer (or two) for being part of our team! Shoot me a note if you’d like to chat more, stacey[at]capecodrunner[dot]com.
Relays are SUCH a blast, and I’m excited to meet women who are flying in from across the country for this epic adventure. Bonding in a van, sweaty and tired for ~30 hours? I’m so in.
Have you done a relay before? What’s your favorite part? Any fun tips to share with the newbies?
